SUMMARY:Bettendorf Parks & Recreation Tennis Lessons
DESCRIPTION:Our 2025 Summer Tennis Program is managed by Dan Patrick who has been a USPTA teaching tennis professional teaching lessons and directing summer camps for over 20 years. Additionally\, Tim Baldridge\, Betty Christian\, Kevin Johnston\, Rich Hoover and many of last year’s staff will return to teach this summer!\nLevels:\nBeginner: Little to no experience. Beginners will learn and develop the basic strokes.\nIntermediate: Some experience; can sustain a rally from the baseline and serve. Intermediates will work on stroke development\, scoring\, movement\, and playing.\nAdvanced: Considerable amount of experience; advanced players will work on drills\, strokes\, strategy\, and match play. For high school and junior varsity level players.\nAll lessons are located at Bettendorf Middle School. For your convenience we offer various two-week session blocks in June\, July and August for ages 5 to 18. Lessons take place daily\, Monday through Thursday\, and are held at various times in the mornings and evenings to accommodate schedules.

Children who are not able to adjust to this environment may not be ready to attend. If your child cannot make this adjustment\, credit will be given. DESCRIPTION:These classes are advanced high performance yellow ball training classes that require minimum tennis related skills and are run as  1) point based and 2) match play type of tennis classes that are not for beginner or intermediate level players.\n\nElite Mandatory requirements:\n– For ages 13 – 17\n– Must have prior tennis director approval to be registered for this class.\n– Must have played in yellow ball USTA events or tournaments.\n– Must have played on a varsity or higher-level JV high school tennis team.\n– If player is younger than high school\, must contact director.\n\nJunior Mandatory requirements:\n– For ages 10 – 16\n– Must have prior tennis director approval to be registered for this class.\n– Must have played in yellow ball (or green ball) USTA events or tournaments.\n– Must have played on JV level or higher on high school or jr. high tennis team.\n– If 10-14 years old\, have been in higher level yellow (green) organized tennis classes.\n– For players that are able to play matches and serve effectively.
