DESCRIPTION:On Wednesday\, October 1\, 2025\, thousands of people across the State of Iowa will go outside and take a walk for 30 minutes to promote a statewide initiative that’s all about being active and connecting with your community. \nFrom 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on 10/1\, you can join this effort by heading to Kiwanis Park (4223 Greenbrier Drive)\, where the City of Bettendorf’s Parks & Recreation Department is hosting an event for the 15th Annual Healthiest State Walk\, part of the Iowa Healthiest State Initiative. \n\nDuring this special two-hour event\, the community can take a stroll on one of Bettendorf’s beautiful trails and check out several special features along the way: \n• NEW IN 2025: The Bettendorf Public Library\, Bettendorf Parks & Recreation Department\, and Parks Maintenance Division have partnered to create a Story Walk that allows you to stop and read one page of a book as you circle the path surrounding Kiwanis Park (funded by the Bettendorf Public Library Foundation) \n• Get a SNEAK PEEK inside some Bettendorf Public Works vehicles \n• HANG OUT with Bettendorf Police Officers and Firefighters \n• PLAY GAMES with the Bettendorf Parks & Recreation Department\, Bettendorf Public Library\, and the Family Museum \n• Learn how to PLAY PICKLEBALL with the Quad Cities Pickleball Club \n\n“The Healthiest State Walk is a great way to get the family outdoors and enjoy one of our amazing neighborhood parks\,” said John Byrnes\, Parks & Recreation Director. “Kiwanis Park has been recently updated and is an incredible venue to host a fun event for the whole family.” \n\nABOUT the Iowa Healthiest State Initiative: The Iowa Healthiest State Initiative is a nonpartisan\, nonprofit organization driven by the goal to ensure every Iowan can live their healthiest life. SUMMARY:3rd Annual Cars & Coffee Gatherings to Help Kids Attend Parks & Recreation Programs in Bettendorf
DESCRIPTION:The Friends of Bettendorf Parks & Recreation – partners of the Bettendorf Parks & Recreation Department and endorsed by the City of Bettendorf – are once again teaming up with Bettendorf Cars & Coffee to rev up awareness of cool cars around the area while revving up funds that help kids participate in programs offered by the Bettendorf Parks & Recreation Department. Bettendorf Cars & Coffee is hosting the 3rd Annual Cars & Coffee Gatherings on the first Saturdays of April through October.  These events will take place the first Saturday of every month starting at 9 a.m. in Downtown Bettendorf – specifically in the parking lot of the Waterfront Convention Center\, 2021 State Street. There are no dues or membership fees. All cars and car enthusiasts are welcome. “If you’re into cars\, you’re in!” said Conor Flaherty of Bettendorf Cars & Coffee. “We’ll have free coffee for the drivers and passengers who attend\, some giveaways\, and most importantly – plenty of cool cars and great photo opportunities!”
